As
founder of The Gallagher Group, Michele brings a diverse, integrated marketing
and fashion background to the Company. Prior to starting Gg, Michele consulted
for French-based companies such as Elle.com and Workshop Salons, a unique
fashion trade show that launched in New York in September 2000. Before
that, Michele was Vice President-Marketing at inshop.com, a fashion and
shopping website. While at inshop, Michele managed a staff of 6 marketing
and PR professionals and developed strategies for the Company's brand
and marketing programs. The result of her team's efforts took the Web
site from being a "no name" player to having more than 100,000
members in 3 months and being featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, among
many other significant press and broadcast placements. Previous to inshop,
Michele was Director of Merchandising at Conde Nast Publications' Group
Division, overseeing fashion and high technology marketing programs for
all of the Company's magazines. She also was Director of Client Services
for the Fashion Division at Evins Communications, where she managed a
team that developed integrated strategic marketing and public relations
programs for such high-end clients as Escada, GFT, Sulka, Tourneau and
Wolford. Michele honed her marketing retails skills at Cole-Haan in Yarmouth,
Maine, where she was Marketing Communications Manager for the Women's
Division.
Earlier in her career,
Michele self-funded her education at night while working in the Advertising
Division of The New England (now New England Financial, a division of Met Life),
and as an Account Manager at Trinity Communications in Boston. Michele received
her B.A. from Suffolk University and her M.B.A. from Simmons College in Boston.
"I always
look for that one nugget of an idea that will be a win/win for everyone. It
makes it very hard to say "no" when you focus on the solution or hook
that works for everyone."
