Townsend Resources Group, Principle
Legacy Plus, Principle

Bhajira Townsend is a busy women. Not only has she started two financial services firms where she acts as principle, Bhaj is the President-elect for NAIFA-WA, and on the board of the Seattle Mens/Womens Chorus, in addition to being a competitive tennis player! As if these activities don’t keep her busy enough, she is writing a book on smart financial planning strategies for families.

Like a lot of busy, successful people, Bhaj knew that all of her activity wasn’t doing enough to get her in front of the best prospects on a regular basis. After learning of The Gallagher Group through an article in National Underwriter magazine, Bhaj called Trisha for assistance in focusing her marketing efforts.

Since then, together they have built a thorough and results-oriented marketing plan for Bhaj that is allowing her a creative and systematic way to seek better referrals. The Gallagher Group is currently working, in collaboration with Nordstrom in Bellevue Square, WA to promote Bhaj’s expertise in a seminar series geared to affluent women. In addition, they are exploring an exclusive opportunity with the Gay Financial Network to build a chapter presence in the greater Seattle area with Bhajira at the helm. All of these efforts are combining to keep Bhaj in front of the best prospects and on track with her 3-year vision to add 100 top-tiered clients to her client file.

Larry Saffer - Guardian Life Insurance Company

Larry Saffer of the Guardian affliate Saffer Financial in Plantation, FL was referred to Gg by client Geoffrey Kasher. After a successful 18 year career, Larry wanted to be sure he was starting off 2005 in the most focused and strategic way possible. After an in-depth phone conversation with Larry, Trisha created a "Ready, Set, Focus!" (tm) marketing plan for Larry to ensure that he gets the most out of his existing market opportunities.

Geoff Kasher, Financial Specialist

Taking an experienced financial representative to new heights in the executive market place is exactly what Gg is partnering to do with Geoff Kasher, a Financial Specialists based in Florida. Christine Palmer Hennigan, ChFC
and Bruce Ohrenich, CFP

After forming a new strategic partnership, Pennsylvania-based financial representatives Christine Palmer Hennigan and Bruce Ohrenich enlisted the help of Gg to determine a fresh brand identity and develop a comprehensive and strategic marketing plan. Trisha worked with Bruce and Christine to accomplish their objectives in one highly interactive and productive planning session. As a result the pair have a focused and achievable marketing plan and an exciting new brand concept, complete with approach letters and press releases. Bruce had this to say about the day: “Gg’s approach was well discussed and provided the structure that we needed to quantify our goals. Trisha really listened and understood what we needed.”

Independence Financial Associates

Independence Financial Associates, a Penn Mutual affiliate, has been serving the needs of individuals, business owners, professionals and their families in greater Philadelphia since 1847. When Agency Manager Frank Norton decided it was time to give the agency a new marketing direction, he called The Gallagher Group. Gg defined comprehensive roles and responsibilities for a new marketing director in the agency, interviewed dozens of candidates and played a role in the final selection to assure a perfect fit. Gg also successfully trained the new marketing director for a faster start in assisting agents in focused marketing, and shared several techniques to aid in the recruiting process.

As a result of the successful collaboration, two other experienced agents at IFA approached Gg about pulling together a series of seminars in partnership with Nordstrom. Voila: the Life & Style Series(sm) was born!

Nordstrom Life & Style Series

Gg has strategized and managed three exciting events on behalf of Gg clients Christine Palmer Hennigan and Bob Altemus, and Nordstrom Personal Touch Manager, Julie Musselman. The three-part series which began in June and wrapped up in November was a celebration of women who are interested in being in the forefront of everything, from understanding the latest fashion and beauty trends to making wise choices about their financial future. In addition to the above speakers, guest speakers for each event included Kumari Raju of St. John, Andrea Stotsky of Doctor’s Dermatalogic Formula (DDF) and Marcy Solomon of Angel by Thierry Mugler. Christine and Bob spoke about important financial planning considerations such as providing tips on Education Funding, Charitable Giving and Long Term Care.

DeStefano and Associates

Gary DeStefano, Managing Directors of Met Life's DeStefano & Associates, based in Danvers, MA, invited Trisha Gallagher Boisvert of The Gallagher Group to conduct a thorough assessment of the marketing operations within the agency. Trisha made several recommendations to better focus the agency in the best markets after interviewing representatives and staff. In addition, she worked with Marketing Director Kiesha Pugh to build a strategic 2005 marketing plan for one veteran agent as a prototype for others to follow.

Jesse Goldman, Raveis Real Estate

After speaking to a group of Realtors and Construction industry professionals, Gg was delighted to welcome realtor Jesse Goldman to our client family. In addition to creating a strategic marketing plan for Jesse, Gg developed this eye-catching ad which is currently running in a local niche-market newspaper.

Jesse met Trisha at a presentation she did for Realtors and theConstruction Industry. Jesse knew she needed to focus more on getting her repuation out among a the markets she had selected and she also new she needed a strategic plan and implementation process to help her keep on track. The Gallagher Group was able to help her research several key markets in her local area to validate her best buyer and how to reach them. Next, Gg built a strategic plan that included all aspects of the Market Development Pyramid and held calls with Jesse every other week for 4 months to keep on track.

Top 100 Women Business Owners Celebration

Trisha attended her third celebration of the Top 100 Women Business Owners in Massachusetts at the Ritz Carlton in Boston. These women have businesses with revenues from $4.7 million annually to $2 billion! An impressive 70 women on the Top 100 list showed up to be honored by members of The Commonwealth Institute on a snowy December night.

Also shared during the evening was the annual research update on Top Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts by the Center for Women's Leadership at Babson College. One of the many interesting statistics showed that top women C.E.O.s in MA have 27 years of experience with 13 being in their current executive role. Depending on which study you read, this C.E.O. tenure is 2 - 3 times longer than male counterparts at top companies!

The Commonwealth Institute is a non-profit organization made up of some of the most successful women entrepreneurs and CEOs in Massachusetts. TCI’s goal is to cater to women leaders during the critical stages of their business and provide them with the tools needed for profitable growth. The Gallagher Group is pleased to be a member of this dynamic organization. For more on TCI, check out www.commonwealthinstitute.org

Women effectively manage through downturns in US Economy

According to a study hot off the press from the Center for Women’s Leadership at Babson College and Mass Mutual Financial Group, women-owned family businesses are holding their own against the recessionary waves of the past few years.

  • Women-owned firms are more likely to maintain a strong US market sales focus in contrast with their male counterparts.
  • Even with an American marketing and sales focus, over 60% of women-led firms have maintained or grown their earnings in the past three years.
  • Most women-owned firms have managed to maintain or grow revenues without resorting to downsizing, as the median number of employees in women-owned firms has remained stable throughout the downturn in the economy.

How can your company help women reach increasingly higher levels of success & profit? The study reports that assisting women with financial leverage to help grow their organizations is likely the most critical variable to future growth.
